Shopping & Co-op
You can buy them directly through Charaka Women’s Co-operative retail outlets and their official sales platforms. Because Desi Trust handed over all retail operations in 2024, Charaka now directly manages all shops, inventory, and customer service. Every purchase you make goes directly to sustaining the 300+ women who run the cooperative.
We are close partners with a clear separation of duties: Charaka makes and sells the products; Desi Trust builds the structural support system around them. While Charaka focuses on artisan employment, handloom production, and cooperative management, Desi Trust handles the broader ecosystem—focusing on policy research, climate-linked livelihood challenges, and advocacy.
Charaka Women’s Co-operative fully owns and manages the Desi brand. In 2024, Desi Trust formally transferred all brand ownership and sales rights back to the cooperative. This deliberate structural change ensures that the rural women artisans entirely own their market, their profits, and their financial futures.
